Since the 1st of April 2016 the surgery no longer offers ear syringing as a service.

This is due to the possible side effects which can be common and traumatic for the individual.
These include:

Perforation of the Ear Drum

Otitis Externa (ear infection)

Damage to external canal

Pain

Deafness

Vertigo

Tinnitus

Alternative treatment of using Sodium Bicarbonate Ear Drops twice daily for at least 2 weeks is now the suggested 1st line treatment for impacted wax.
