What is a session?

A GP 'session' is a standard work block of 4 hours and 10 minutes, where a GP provides patient care via. face to face and telephone appointments, handles administration tasks, referrals, prescriptions, and performs other duties like home visits.
Many practices offer 10 minute appointments only, in line with BMA guidance, our GPs are allocated 15 minutes per patient appointment in order to give both you and them the time needed to help.
We understand 15 minutes does not always seem like enough and our clinicians are all trained to work with you to prioritise your concerns within that window to ensure that both what is most important to you and what is most important medically, are both addressed.
Occasionally we may not be able to tackle all problems in one consultation and you could be asked to arrange a further consultation. Thank you in advance for understanding this.

What is a practitioner?

All of our practitioners are registered professionals capable of assessment, diagnosis and treatment with independent prescribing qualifications. They all have access to a general practitioner to raise concerns with or ask for additional advice. Whilst they are able to treat you independently, we have an open door policy in the practice meaning they may advise you that they are going to additionally consult with a GP before confirming a final management plan with yourself.
